PARKERSBURG, WV – Today, Keep Your Promises DuPont released an open letter to the C-8 Medical Panel requesting oversight of the C-8 Medical Monitoring Program and citing recurring issues with the administration of the program to date.
“I am appealing to the C-8 Medical Panel today to ask you to commence oversight of this program to ensure that members of our community get the medical monitoring that was promised to them,” stated Keep Your Promises DuPont Advisory Committee member Dr. Paul Brooks, the author of the open letter. “Our community members will continue to suffer without your oversight.”
The letter cites issues with the program’s administration, including insufficient publicity for the program, the high fees paid to administrator Michael Rozen by DuPont and the low payout to community members from the $235 million fund, and the reported issues with compensation for medical monitoring procedures for eligible participants.
“Participants have received bills for medical monitoring procedures that were to have been paid under the program yet have been left for the participants to pay,” continued Dr. Brooks. “We are happy to work with the Medical Panel to address these issues and ensure community members get the medical monitoring they were promised.”
