Here is a statement from Dr. Paul Brooks, advisor to Keep Your Promises DuPont, regarding Rep. McKinley’s call for Congressional hearings:

“We welcome Rep. McKinley’s call for Congressional hearings on EPA’s C-8 guideline, which rightly showed Vienna and communities across the country that our drinking water is contaminated with harmful levels of C-8.

“The guideline is a step in the right direction, but EPA must act to make it both legally enforceable and a reflection of the prevailing science, which dictates a maximum level of 0.001 parts per billion. We encourage Congress to hold hearings to ensure that communities in the Valley and across the country understand the facts about C-8 in drinking water and can adequately respond when the chemical is detected in their drinking water systems.”
